Just what I needed today. Thank you. Sharing this with others.

I hope you know, Jennifer, how much your work lifts us.

Wow thank you. I kind of needed it too... the reminder. Sometimes we all do.

I lived through the turmoil of the 70s with the war on TV every night, marching in the streets, though not so violent though there was of course violence and when you take a look back, you see those same people sitting with their signs yesterday in their ‘ no kings’ protest with their walkers and their canes and it’s the same damn people

I just say get a hobby. Take a walk outside. They’re in this unending loop of outrage

I don’t know how you live like that

And these are the people that are all driving their Subaru with the stickers on the back believe in science and no kings

And yet they don’t know what a woman is, and think a man can turn himself into a woman

And then take away sports awards from women

I just don’t understand it

Love 💕 this ! I have no children but I choose to be a teacher so I see the new world through the eyes of hundreds of kids. I’m so sick of rich liberals bemoaning the end of the world from their fancy

The Blackpill Podcast Network is running out of Kool-Aid for us to drink.... Here's to this recommended dose of daily optimism, followed by a shot of personal agency.

I really appreciate this post. And I needed to be reminded even though I agree with you 100%. There is so, so much fearmongering everywhere! In government and politics, in our healthcare, in our financial security....everywhere. It's like we've forgotten we can live simply and with contentment, despite what the media is blaring at us 24/7. Plant those herbs, my friend! Growing a garden is my happy place; it's slow, meditative, and sometimes has no rewards in a bad year. But the trying always brings me contentment.

My dad has been a gardener since I was little, and while I used to help him when I was young, it didn't transfer to me. He still keeps overflowing pots of peppers and spices and herbs in his little urban garden. Maybe I'll catch the bug.

First I’d like to say that the death of that young woman in Spain was terrible. I don’t agree with this assistive suicide until the person has been declared imminently within days of dying and is in pain. The next point is I’m 78 years old and still hitting tennis balls with a man 25 years younger every Sunday and loving it. Still have a great slice backhand and topspin forehand. I just don’t move like I did 20 plus years ago. But exhilarating nonetheless the less. I still love being a speech/language pathologist and providing therapy to kids and families. (PS I’m good at it and have been doing it for 50 plus years) and my new field of expertise is language and literacy since most kids these days are way behind in their use of language, vocabulary, and reading skills. It’s actually deplorable. Going out with friends is also a wonderful thing. So life is good regardless of age. Wake up everyday and say “I’m alive and theirs lots to do today” that’s my world and it ain’t bad!

I can relate. While I’m not quite that age(64) I have no plans on retiring anytime soon working in heath care compliance, I play full court pickup basketball games every weekend, write book reviews on books about sports (including Jennifer’s on her gymnastics career) which I’ve done for 13 years and am still going strong and while my friends list isn’t where I’d like it to be, I am making progress there as well. I loved your post and it’s something all of us at a certain age can be inspired by

Just became a paid subscriber today and seeing this article is a great start (although I have read and commented on some posts through my previous free subscription). I really relate to the comment on being cancelled because in my last job, my position was suddenly “downsized” after I supposedly violated the company’s DEI policy by hiring for a management position a…wait for it…an Asian woman. Yes, you read that right. Because I did not confer with HR on diversity needs and went “rogue” and hired someone without that consultation, I wasn’t honoring our commitment to diversity. But…rather than complain and start black pilling I moved and got a similar position with a much better leadership team, of which I was happy to join. Oh, and the Asian woman I hired? I keep in touch with her and she’s doing well with a recent promotion. Yeah, I really did a bad thing by hiring her, didn’t I?
