Collateral Global, a non-profit think tank, and documentary film "Generation Covid" to partner on completion and distribution of the film
As you all know, I’ve been working on a documentary film called Generation Covid about the harms to children from prolonged school closures, for the past two years. My directing partner — Andrew James — and I are working non-stop to finish the film. And we’re getting so close!
We’ve completed production (at the end of last year) and are editing the film (well, he’s the editor, and an amazing one at that!)
Many of you have asked me about contributing to the film and if we have non-profit status. For that reason — and many more — we are announcing an exciting new partnership with Collateral Global (CG), a non-profit think tank focused on researching and communicating the impact of Covid policies worldwide.
Collateral Global is a UK-based charity (U.S. recognized) and think-tank dedicated to improving health emergency response around the world through deep study of the lessons learned from the Covid pandemic. Collateral Global’s strategic goal is to become the world’s leading independent think tank focused on a balanced and evidence-based approach to health emergencies, one that upholds democratic norms, scientific integrity, and viewpoint diversity in science and medicine.
This partnership will ensure the final editing and production of Generation Covid and support CG’s existing communication and policy engagement activities, with a focus on influencing U.S. pandemic policy and educating the public through mainstream media and community events. The partnership will ensure screenings and discussions at universities in the second half of this year.
Collateral Global will also provide scientific expertise in the final editing of the film, ensuring accuracy of the facts and data used to help tell the story.
There are already strong existing links between Generation Covid and Collateral Global. Professor Jay Bhattacharya (Stanford) is featured in the film and is a founding member and Trustee of CG.
CG has produced three short documentary films on the harms of Covid policies, including Children of Nowhere which focused on the harms of school closures in India.
Collateral Global is also planning a series of synergistic policy-oriented research projects and events across American college and university campuses to raise awareness about the harms of Covid policies and promote academic freedom and viewpoint diversity.
Kevin Bardosh (PhD) is the Director/Head of Research at Collateral Global and Affiliate Assistant Professor at University of Washington. He has worked in more than 20 countries on infectious disease control programs (including Ebola and Zika), authored 60 peer-reviewed publications and edited two books. Kevin is also currently affiliated with the University of Edinburgh Medical School in the U.K. and the School of Public Health at the University of Washington in the United States.
“Covid school closures hurt American children and the ripple effects will be felt for a generation. Like no other film to date, Generation Covid tackles these issues head-on with brutal honesty and creative self-reflection. Collateral Global is excited to partner with Generation Covid in order to jump-start a national conversation about Covid school closures and their legacy on American children and the educational system.”

You say: "Many of you have asked me about contributing to the
film and if we have non-profit status." And later, "Collateral Global is
a UK-based charity (U.S. recognized) and think-tank . . . ." But I've
checked their website and they say nothing about having 501(c)(3) status in
the US. I'm inclined to donate, but I would donate more if it's tax
deductible. If you could help clarify this, it would be helpful.
Particularly, if they have tax deductible (501(c)(3) status in the US it
would be very helpful if they had a statement to that effect on their
website.
Not sure what to think. I was very interested in the film because it was YOUR film, your voice. Partnering and entrusting the film to some global think tank? I am uneasy about that. Any group ‘globalist’ in nature gives me pause. I went to the CG website and watched some of Kevin B.’s videos. Right. Nice guy….I liked what I heard and learned a lot. I just hope this is not some situation where you sold your soul to the devil to get the film made. Actually, that does not at all sound like something you would do……
Well, good luck. We’ll see what develops:)
