XX-XY Athletics launched a new ad today, in honor of XX Day (tomorrow, 10/10) — or as we like to call it: Real Women Day. The ad is called Dear Nike.
Here it is:
We had the good fortune of going kinda viral. Trending on X and Instagram.
A bunch of awesome folks gave us some re-tweets:
Megyn Kelly, Sage Steele, Riley Gaines, Nancy Mace, Robby Starbuck, Libs of Tik Tok, Rob Schneider and a whole bunch more.
And we got some great coverage from Outkick, Breitbart, The Counter Signal (I don’t know what that is but thanks The Counter Signal!) and a bunch more.
I still find it ridiculous that this issue of standing up for the protection of women’s sports and women’s private spaces is “Right coded.” I don’t accept that coding. It’s dumb. It’s about truth and fairness and privacy and safety. And I’m a feminist, now a TERF I guess, and this is about standing up for women’s rights — equality of opportunity, access to safety and privacy.
This issue should be apolitical. This is about basic and fundamental truth. The truth that sex is binary and men and women are different. It shouldn’t be Right vs Left. So I reject that framing altogether and I welcome press coverage anywhere and everywhere it happens!
I cannot believe we have to fight about whether males are faster and stronger than women and The Atlantic prints stupid shit like this, that people with sense are forced to end up debating even though it makes no sense and isn’t grounded in any sort of ]reality:
But in today’s hyper polarized nonsensical world, standing up for girls is “Christo-Fascist.” Or I guess I am. Whatever.
Why did we make the ad?
Males have stolen over 700 trophies, medals, scholarships, endorsements and team berths from females in the last few years alone.
And none of the governing bodies or the biggest players in sport are standing up for women and girls. Nike has the opportunity to do the right thing, but instead they are choosing woke-ness over women. And despite pretending to champion female athletes, they have never done any such thing. From Mary Cain, to Allyson Felix to Simone Biles. These outstanding female athletes have all chosen to leave Nike because the brand simply doesn’t actually treat women with any respect. In some cases, Nike is downright abusive towards women. (Note: Simone didn’t say that Nike was disrespectful but she did say she was leaving Nike to head to Athleta because Athleta focuses on women. She was being nice!)
Our new ad challenges the wokest brand imaginable to actually do the right thing and truly stand up for female athletes — the ones they claim to celebrate. We’re doing it at XX-XY Athletics. And we’d love for much bigger players to join us. When big brands and high profile athletes stand up for women and girls, the governing bodies will fall in line.
Until then, we are encouraging people to vote with their dollars. Join us at XX-XY Athletics in standing up for the protection of women’s sports. And defending basic truth.
The truth needs you! Our girls need you!
So sad that this beautiful video is even needed in 2024, but here we are. Onward & forward...
'Will you just do it?" Bravo. Use their own words to highlight their hypocrisy.
