More "behind the scenes" on the documentary film I'm working on
Today I'll share some of what the experts we interviewed had to say. These folks are doctors who have been outspoken about the harms of school closures.
Below you’ll find a bit more of the “behind the scenes” - images and quotes - from the as yet untitled documentary film I’m working on.
Last week I shared what some of the kids who suffered from school closures had to say.
This week I’m sharing what doctors had to say. These medical professionals were outspoken about the harms of school closures. For sounding the alarm, and going against the mainstream progressive narrative, they were targeted by the press and public health leaders, and dismissed as bigots, quacks and “fringe” in their thinking.
They persisted regardless of the name-calling. They predicted, then saw, what was happening to kids across the country. They knew the harms were too great and it was too important, so they kept speaking out. They refused to stay quiet regardless of the impact on their reputations and careers.
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Professor of Health Policy at Stanford University and
M.D./PhD at Stanford had this to say:
“Schools are incredibly important to the health and development of children. They're not optional things. They are a fundamental birthright that we owe our children. Do not, in any way, disrupt them because doing so does not help stop the spread, does not protect the children and closing the schools harms them in ways that will reverberate through their entire lives.”
