Go Woke Go Broke is a symptom, not causal. A Marketing Department with no adults and no diversity of thought. Corporate leadership out of touch with reality. Sad to watch this happen. Often to companies that lose sight of how they got success in the first place. And arrogance sets in.
I was done with Nike when information was coming out about them using slave labor in China. The more that came out about the abuses against the Uyghur's was just appalling. The NBA also was under scrutiny as well for producing some of their merchandise from them. These poor people need to be freed from their oppressors. It is just so sad.
I just want Nike demise to be 🗣️📣 throughout the land that backing men who think they’re women, demanding into our sports & spaces — is a colossal losing $$ strategy.
Jen … Have any companies been successful 💰 embracing Gender Ideology… the belief that changing one’s sex is possible?
But are they really "broke"? Their revenue may be down, but sounds pretty good to me. And...here's something that bothers me - I can't buy a MLB or NFL jersey of my favorite teams unless I support Nike since they have the swoosh on the jerseys.
And despite this - your article is spot on and I loved it. I only have two Nike items, one completely by accident. If you can believe this, it was from several years ago. My wife took me for my 50th birthday on a cruise to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick (best part of Canada - the Maritimes.) In Halifax, I went on a beer tasting excursion to the Alexander Keith brewery, a beer only found in the Maritimes. I bought a polo shirt. Now, a Canadian brewer polo shirt has to have the swoosh on the left sleeve? Geez... (In case you're wondering, the other item is the pair of basketball shoes this old man wears on his Saturday morning games at the Y. Still being able to make 3-pointers and crash the boards at 65 makes me happy!)

Correct
So accurate!

Michael Jordan was correct.
China was a DF ( dumb.... ) play. But Kissinger liked it!
Joyous with the news of the company decline.
Nothing Nike for me since the mid '80's.
Never missed them.

This brings to mind an expression my Texan uncle told me years ago. “You gotta dance with the one who brung ya”
I’m trying to think of the last Nike sneaker I owned, maybe a pair of cleats in the early oughts. It’s been decades, regardless.

Jen — if Nike asked you for advice on how to turn its fortunes around, what would you say?
Well that’s a long answer, perhaps a separate stack
I’d read it, and I bet a lot of your followers/subscribers would too.
Heads should roll ...
