The End of Woke Capitalism Could Be Near
Loss of money and public humiliation are two things business leaders won't tolerate. And that's exactly what is starting to happen.
I have a feeling that woke capitalism is going to start to dissipate. It won’t come to an abrupt end, crashing and burning to never be seen again. But I think companies are going to start to pull back, and it will dwindle slowly to the point of rarity, as companies start to focus on the fundamentals again, which include:
1/ Their bottom line.
2/ Making and selling their product (rather than feigned values) to deliver the bottom line.
3/ Getting employees to come back to the office and do actual work rather than filling their days with diversity trainings, employee resource groups and Zoom engagement sessions.
Why? Because the businesses demand it. It’s tough out there for all. Even Meta and Amazon and Google — the big winners during lockdowns — are laying people off in record numbers.
It’s all kind of falling apart. And it’s time to get back to basics.
