What can you do to help protect women's sports
I've gotten a ton of questions in the last 2 weeks. Here's my list. Help me add to it in the comments.
In the past two weeks, since we all saw two males in the Olympics win gold in boxing in the women’s category, many people have written to me directly to ask: what can I do to protect women’s sports?
Here’s my list:
Support those that are in this fight. Here are some organizations on the front lines:
Push back. Express your view publicly. Normalize standing up for the protection of women’s sports.
Wear your XX-XY Athletics gear. Have the hard conversation when someone asks you what the brand is all about. Tell them you believe in the protection of women’s sports.
Post photos of yourself in XX-XY Athletics. Tag @XX_XYAthletics and use #thetruthfits hashtag.
Courage begets courage, so when you speak out, others will join you. Together we can start a movement of bravery.
Help a currently competing athlete stand up.
XX-XY Athletics Fund Courage Wins award program is a donation-directed program that provides scholarship assistance and sponsorship replacement for brave female athletes who speak up, and stand up for women’s sports. The Courage Wins Award program is funded by XX-XY Athletics, and a portion of every purchase goes towards the fund. But these girls need all the help they can get, so if you would like to make a tax-free donation of $1,000 or more, click here for more information.
Advocate for policy change.
Title IX has been re-written to alter its original meaning. Sex based rights have been morphed into “gender identity” rights. Now, schools are required to give students access to opportunities, activities, and spaces that match his or her subjective reality. This completely erases the intention of the landmark civil rights legislation passed in 1972.
You can write your representatives. You have a right to let them know what you think and find out if they are standing up for women and girls.
Here’s how:
Get the contact information of the people who represent you on the federal, state and local levels here.
Let them know what’s on your mind. Here’s an example:
Dear ______
Title IX changed everything for young women. It opened the door to equal opportunity, fair treatment and expanded opportunities for young women in the educational system.
The Biden Administration has gone too far when it erased the meaning of Title IX.
Saying you are a woman doesn’t make it so. And it shouldn’t be controversial to say women and men are different. How you can claim to be the protector of women’s rights if you think woman is a fungible term? Sensible people are tired of the lies.
I urge you to push back against implementation of Title IX and for the legal protection of women.
Let me know if you will stand up for sanity and women’s equal opportunity. I await your reply.
Signed, Jen
Speak at a public meeting, such as a city council meeting or a state budget hearing. Most government meetings are open to the public and have time on the agenda designated for public comments. Prepare a short statement, under five minutes, and sign up to read it at the meeting.
Join a Coalition Supporting Fairness in Sport. The women athletes harmed by policies are overwhelmingly missing from the rooms where these decisions are made. But, XX-XY Athletics works with groups including The Independent Council on Women's Sports (ICONS), Independent Women’s Forum (IWF), the U.S. chapter of Women’s Declaration International (WDI, USA), Women’s Sports Policy Working Group and the Women’s Liberation Front, all part of the Our Bodies, Our Sports coalition, to increase fairness and equity in women’s sport.
Help change the culture. Creative resistance using visual arts, music, film and other media helps to generate the cultural activity that can motivate and influence social and political change. The XX-XY Athletics digital billboards are creative ways to appeal to audiences and plants the seeds of change. What if one of became a mural? By you! Remember, politics are downstream from culture. If we change the culture, then we can’t lose the policy and politics battle.
Organize a boycott of athletic brands that do not stand up for women’s sports. Women buyers dominate the athletic-wear market, representing $164.5 billion in revenue in 2022. Vote with your wallet.
You have a place in this movement.
Use your leverage.
Use your voice.
Tell big business and lawmakers what you believe in.
Buy brands that align with your values.
Stand Up.

Could you provide a list of the brands we should boycott? I know Nike is one, but please provide a list.
