The Democrats' actions over the past two-and-a-half years have shown me who they really are. They are the party that doesn’t care about kids or public education.
Great piece. The issue is not done. The effects will be felt for years to come. It’s so sad. And the teachers that are leaving the profession are the good ones who can no longer take it. I know this first hand.
I used to consider myself fairly liberal, but no more. I cannot see myself ever voting for another democrat after what they did to kids. It was so cruel that I almost can't imagine anything worse. And the fact that they still won't acknowledge it was wrong and, in fact, try to gaslight us into believing they wanted schools open the whole time, is just insulting and condescending.
I am a Mexican immigrant, grew up in Los Angeles, went to LAUSD/CSUN, and still have my corporate job. I left CA two months ago; I am still very angry at LAUSD, UTLA, "public health," and so much more. Everyone blames someone else, the fear, the propaganda and everything that was pushed on us for two years, but guess what, I am product of exactly the same institutions as everyone else, and NONE of this made sense to me from day 1! I knew it made ZERO sense to send only the corporate/laptop class home, while so many others had not much of a choice. However, many people benefited from this, it was nice to stay home and not have to sit in traffic for hours, life slowed down for once, who wouldn't like that? This went on for way too long, and sooner or later the corruption and self serving interests became all too clear, and people still went along with it. I tried for moths to reason with the people in my circle, it made no difference. I still cringe when I think fo Los Angeles. I can only thank the heavans I was able to get my kids out of there.
My family moved out of CA. I have one freshman in college and she still can’t go to college in CA without the jab so we all moved out. I have another child who’s a senior in high school right behind her. It’s still not normal in blue areas. For what it’s worth I think the Republicans suck too.
You are on the mark again ! Although I don’t agree with many things our Florida government has done under Ron DeSantis I do believe he made a statement about the importance of in person education when he opened our K-12 and state universities (my daughter attends UCF in Orlando) before many other states across the country. The k-12 families had a choice to attend in person or online into the same classroom. Yes a challenge for teachers but parents chose the best option for their children !
Jennifer - you always speak the truth and have great wisdom. Almost have to wonder however how you could have been a Democrat for so many years or decades and not realize what the Democrats are about. You wanna get elected and re-elected? You’re gonna need money. Who’s gonna give the Democrats money? Trial lawyers and unions (including the teachers unions). Republicans have their own issues (which is why I’m not one), but at least they didn’t want to force me to get vaccinated against my will (which I had to eventually do to keep my job). Republicans don’t want children to be forced to be vaxxed. Republicans aren’t trying to shut down schools. You’re really on the right track with all of this and I hope you continue to speak out. And I’d vote for you in any office, whether you ran as a Demo or Repub - because you speak the truth

Most of these democrat child abusers are sociopaths - beware the Sanpaku eyes: https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/how-to-spot-a-sociopath-part-2
Sad. Brilliant but so so sad.
True words!
The best way to send a message to these school-shuttering Democrats is to vote every single one of them out.
Jen,

This story about (the lack of) life on one California college campus in the 2020-2021 school year is illustrative: https://twitter.com/MmeBlackBalloon/status/1568705463138779141

We’ll said! I for one, will never forgive those that used Covid to damage our kids.
