Keep fighting the fight. I still believe that in the end the truth wins, maybe I am naive, but as the Terf son of a strong woman, married to a strong woman, father of a strong woman, it is important to be able to define and celebrate what a woman is. And "woman" is much more than just a feeling.

I have to take a moment to call out Ketanji Brown Jackson who still can't define what a woman is. She is an inspiration, but in not a good way. Disgusting.

Thanks again for all you do.

I can *almost* understand how women who have never played a sport or done any physical activity can support trans-identified males in women’s sports, because I assume they are getting their information from movies in which a 5’2” woman beats up a 200 lb man. But Megan Rapinoe should know better, after being beaten by a bunch of high school boys in a soccer match. It’s bizarre.

Eloquent, Jen. One of my granddaughters is age 17 and plays both HS and club volleyball. she needs to be protected, plain and simple.

There are several feminist organizations fighting for women's sex-based rights and against gender ideology:

that is true. Kara Dansky is amazing. BUT, i'd argue that the leading "feminist" organizations -- NOW top of that list -- are either silent or on the wrong side of the issue.

Sure, but Kara, and WoLF, WDI, etc, also call themselves feminists. So I think some other language, like "Can Women's Rights Survive Today's Trans-Affirming Women's Organizations?" would paint a more accurate picture.

That is a helpful point! It isn't mainly Trans-Affriming Women's Organizations that are the source of the problem, however. A high percentage of young women, college age and young adults (older Zoomers), "identify as" feminists but then prioritize many Victim Classes over women. The same young women are loudly and consistently vocal about "disrupting and deconstructing the patriarchy," but they are extremely inconsistent in supporting women against violence. Women who are not willing to publicly take a stand against rape are exhibiting a very low level of consciousness regarding the most egregious, misogynist acts. I am not clear on what basis these Gen Z women can justifiably claim to be feminists. The same goes for every woman in the Democratic Party who behaves similarly.

Well this is a many-layered topic, obviously, and as an aging boomer man I doubt I have much of value to say about it. I am simply stunned by how many women seem perfectly fine with men stealing from them what is rightfully theirs. I don't get it.

But I still think the women who do still value their own rights would do better to try to reclaim the feminist label rather than let the transqueers have it.

I completely agree that feminists should strongly claim both the label "woman" and "feminist."

I have been frustrated all my life with women who trample on their own rights as well as the rights of other women. When I challenge them about this, the answers I get are even more infuriating. Too many women are activists for male supremacy, even the ones who say they are doing the opposite.

Hear! Hear! You are my hero, Jennifer! I am an old school feminist who marched for the ERA in 1982, and after a divorce, got my bachelors degree in women’s studies. Fortunately for my job prospects, I went on to get a Masters in English and a law degree (JD). My younger two children pretend to be the opposite sex. Both well into adulthood. At least my youngest, daughter, who was very active in track and field in high school and her first year of college, does not pretend she can compete on a boys’ team, despite her dressing up as one. She knows better. They both have trauma histories, which I believe inform their decision to live as the opposite sex. Adults can do what they want, but biology is immutable. We fought hard in the 70’s and ‘80’s for women’s rights, women’s protections, and women’s spaces. While not a Lesbian, where are the Lesbian bars, the places for women who prefer an all female environment, to hang out? Lesbians who are more butch are now bullied into presenting as male. It is not the same. Sadly, when Gays and Lesbians achieved their legal goals, the national organizations pivoted to Trans and a Crayon box of “genders.” Now, that multi-lettered ideology has co-oped every big corporation, the public schools - elementary, secondary, and public institutions of higher education. It is not a grassroots movement but a multinational, corporate hydra, entwined with all media and politics to promote misogyny and discrimination against women, Lesbians, and men. The only “color” now acceptable is their ugly striped flag colors. White is “literally Hitler.” People need to wake up. Children are being mutilated, women are silenced, and their athletics are being dominated by loser men, who are unable to compete with their own sex.

Thank you for speaking this basic, simple truth as it pertains to Title 9 and more importantly, biology. People need their heads examined or to throw away their devices, probably both. Keep up the good fight. We need you and many more truth-tellers to stay loud.

And yet I wonder how many women will “vote blue, no matter who” in November.

Democrats of both sexes have "come home" to the Democratic Party most of the time on Election Day. Many commenters on anti-woke sites explicitly state they plan to vote Democratic no matter how many critical things they have said about Biden's administration, Progressives or the Party in general.

As frustrating as that is, feminist women will in fact have reason to vote Democratic, because the Republicans have demonstrated that they plan to take away women's reproductive rights. The overwhelming majority of women of chid bearing age want legal protection of access to abortion. Women who are trying to protect women's rights are in a lose-lose situation between the Democrats and the Republicans. Both parties are attacking women's rights in the area of bodily safety, power and freedom.

This is one of the first statements I have read recently that accurately explains the positions of Second Wave Feminism. It is a relief, frankly, to not have to feel that my goals and the goals of the feminist movement are being misrepresented. Thank you!

Back when we were raising consciousness about the use of "men" and "he" rather than "people" and "he and she," we were ridiculed and mansplained about how "men" was an inclusive word. We were laughed at and told how silly we were to insist that when peoples' rights were discussed that "women" be officially named in the wording. They said we should assume that when they said "men" that "women" were included and we should know this without needing it to be stated. Both men and women were very aggressive in their efforts to marginalize the feminist claim that the word "man" was only inclusive when it benefited men, and that because "women" were not explicitly named, we could be "disappeared" from the term "men" when it was to their advantage.

To whom you are attracted sexually is purely subjective and therefore cannot reasonably be contested by an outside observer. Where you decide to live your life on a spectrum of superficial, stereotypical male to female attributes (and we all do) is also purely subjective and similarly cannot be questioned. However, your biological sex reflects an objective reality which cannot be changed by your subjective personal view and futile attempts to do so can result in serious health impacts to you as well as actual harms to members of the sex you are impersonating (especially women). Finally, others who are grounded in objective reality should never be forced to accept your subjective version of your actual biological sex.
