I know it’s corny but I do take part in the obligatory looking back on my year and looking ahead to the next, as I round the corner into a calendar year change. I can’t help it. I like it. I don’t so much make resolutions as declare my hopes for the year ahead. And for those who might say
Thank you for sharing this Jennifer - you did have a wonderful year and one to be proud of! My 2023 was not as busy but I did think about what you said about old friends. My best friend of 40 years (who works in healthcare) and I have struggled to keep our relationship going given our radically different views of the world coming out of Covid. She’s still a dedicated leftie who trusts the government, big pharma and institutions, and thinks the Covid vaccines and other restrictions ‘helped’. I am the opposite of course. But I know my friend has a good heart and good intentions, so we just don’t discuss anything contentious anymore, which makes our interactions less frequent and somewhat superficial but at least we are still friends. I don’t want to cut her off because her daughter is my goddaughter and I want to be there waiting to help my friend when she does wake up. I pray that it’s soon. Ironically her husband is a doomsday prepper so she is pretty prepared for the apocalypse anyway!
I really enjoyed reading your "Looking back and looking forward" piece. It has motivated me to do the same. I truly like your honesty and genuine sharing of who and where you are in life. So refreshing ! Thanks for the movie and book references. So, will your clothing line have anything for men, or just women? I'd like to support you in this venture, and wish you every success! Be blessed, and thank you for standing up, speaking out and I hope you continue. Loved the pic with you and Bobby Jr. He's another truth warrior. All the best!
Jennifer, it's always a pleasure reading your informative & honest content. You've experienced quite the life, from early yrs in gymnastics surrounded by adults who have their own agenda & dark personalities (not an ideal setting ) for a youngster to be exposed to. Your corporate life, where you flourished & grew to amazing heights & found out who your friends were-not. Not sure where you find the time to tackle & juggle all your projects, but kudos to your passion. In a nutshell, I spent 20 yrs in broadcast media (sales) during which I was intimately close to seeing the dark side of the media (I refer to the "rip n read) media. That's a long story for another day. Got out of that & operated my own media buying/creative agency for 15 yrs, shuttering it at the beginning of the C/chaos, 2020, after all who needed to advertise the fact that they weren't open for business. One last point on that, which is question I asked numerous so-called health experts, politicians etcI from day ONE, if this virus was so deadly, to warrant masking, distancing, lock downs etc, why is it that the 100,000's of homeless people living in parks, tents with no access to clean water, food etc not been decimated? Of course I don't wish this on anybody, but thought that was something nobody had addressed. I wanted to send you this message, because it resonated on a number of points, specifically your new passion developing an apparel line. The silver lining to covid, we're developing our own collection of natural blend apparel, with a focus on one specific industry. There seems to be a long standing love affair with fast fashion & synthetic clothing. I'm still prototyping & testing various natural fabric blends & optimistic that this latest one will check off all the boxes on my list. Based on my research & focus group feedback we're on the right path even if it means using a slow fashion strategy. Keep up your great work, experience good health in 2024, look forward to hearing more about your collection. stay hungry. Aj
Happy New Year to you & family! Wishing for many good things in 2024. You're a very inspiring person. Looking forward to more of your writing, and the film.
Vacation recommendations: Lots to see & do both in CA & CO, but since you've now lived in both places, I wanted to share two other favorite places I've been. My family has very much enjoyed both an Alaskan cruise from Seattle up to Glacier Bay & several trips to Destin FL.
I think some writers have the gift and ability to really touch the soul of others. I think you have that ability. The proof for me is that more than a day later, I'm still pondering your comments about friends in this article. My thoughts drifted to 4 men who in the course of my lifetime I would call my four closest friends. For anonymity, we'll call the Tom, Dick, Harry and Jack. The ironic thing is, all four of these guys are very opposite from me in our political views. Two are gay. I am straight. One is a recovering alcoholic, as am I. Tom is agnostic. Dick and Jack are Christians as am I. Harry is Jewish. During COVID, Dick and I shared many of your views on the whole thing. Harry and Jack begged me to get the shot. I refused. Today, Jack is a Biden supporter, while Dick stands with Trump. I'm am an enthusiastic RFK, Jr. guy. Tom passed away 6 years ago, but in days gone by I looked forward to our weekly discussions where he would defend the left and I the right. But here's the main point of my writing this: It's never been personal with us. These men are honest, and the have personal integrity. I truly can say I love each of them, and value what knowing them has brought into my life. I know Dick, Harry and Jack (and Tom if he could) would come to help me at 3am any day if I needed it, and I would for them. So, Jennifer, I cannot understand how any of those so-called friends could abandon you after so many years, unless they never were friends, or lack moral fiber and character. Have a blessed 2024, and please keep speaking out!
I look forward to second and last cataract procedure and hopefully spelling will be easier! I look forward to clarity on sex that does not = gender in 2024, as we learn about Philadelphia "trans activist" Kendall Stephen's upcoming cases for sexual assault of 2 boys (repeatedly) in his position with some kind of foster home. One boy was threatened into not talking about the rapes and one was bribed. The boys were 9 and 14 at the time, and if certain radical groups say children don't need to consent, I will have to figure out a way to get the truth out. Some pithy commentary already up at uteheggengrasswidow.wordpress.com (contact form)
A big thank you for your strength the past year, and for pouring your heart out to us virtual strangers so we can keep ours open. Happy New Year.

Thank you! I’ve always wanted to do that Alaska cruise! And I’ve been to Destin (and enjoyed)… many moons ago.
Great recap, Jennifer. So much to be proud of! May it only get better, deeper and stronger in 2024.
Shabbat Shalom!
