I had a few posts lined up and ready to go, but then I became consumed over the weekend with reading, watching and deciphering the events in Israel. The terrorist attack on Saturday morning, the capture and torture of Israeli citizens as well as tourists, the unfolding war.
Hi Jennifer. Thanks for sharing these pics. I feel so much connection to you and your family as my family and I have many of the same experiences you had. I recognize many of the places where these photos were taken having taken several trips to Israel. Both of my daughters have spent considerable time in Israel, in addition to family trips (including both being Bat Mitzvah’d there).
My younger daughter became close with a young Israeli man while she spent her junior year of college there. That young man visited us a couple of months ago in the states. We just called him to see how he’s doing after the invasion. He told us four of his close friends were at the Peace Festival. One is dead and two taken hostage. These is much evil happening right now. My wife and I are at a loss for words. We desperately want Israel to retaliate, but equally don’t want innocents hurt. We all know that is an impossible wish. Where is our leadership when we so badly need it?
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos that illustrate the humanity and bright light of Israel. I pray for the safety of your friends and family who reside there.
Thank you for sharing. Praying for all humans affected by this tragedy. My D spent a couple of weeks in Israel (all over) on a Hellel trip from her University. They chose non-Jews to attend this 2-week trip & she was deeply moved. This is just heart-breaking.
THANK YOU for sharing your personal experiences from recent travels. Just sending LOVE...to your family, friends, and to the entire world. I feel this simply cannot be a pointing fingers situation....it's a human condition problem. A human consciousness problem. A cycle that goes back centuries from the beginning of time where humans just haven't found a way to get along peacefully. I know animals have territorial disputes from their animal instincts...this human problem of our behavior is complicated by the way our brains have evolved. I'm at a loss for words right now. It's just too big. I'll do my part by doing whatever i can to be loving person & only spread love in any way I can. I guess I could make some art that heals or write some healing-helping words. I know you'll be doing the same Jennifer. Thx for the photos...it brings perspective.
Thank you for sharing your photos of life. You chose a good word with saying consumed by the news. May they all stay safe. Subscribed to both Etana and Efrat's substacks.
Beautiful pictures. The love is radiating from them. How lucky you are to have such a wonderful family and friends. Thank you for sharing them. Many prayers for their safety.
Oh my goodness Wendi I didn't realize you're all there now... but of course, you told me you would be a while back. sending all my love. please get home safely. xx
