A quick comment on postponing motherhood by freezing one's eggs: Women who choose to do this should ask the clinic which they choose for data on success rates of using a frozen & then thawed egg to conceive a child. There are a LOT of things that can cause a frozen egg to become "nonviable". A choice to "be a mom later" can in reality be a choice not to be a (bio) mom. Many women do become moms using donated eggs or by adoption. Just get all the information before making the "be a mom later" choice.

Another thing - You can be a more active & involved parent at 25 than at 45. You will enjoy your kids more and they will enjoy you more when you have them by mid thirties.

And finally (& most importantly), having kids by your mid thirties improves your odds of having grandkids while you can still play with them on the floor.

Sadly, somehow facing reality and God-forbid you point it out, has now become almost a hate-crime! Great insights from a woman who has achieved success while still not losing her common sense:)

Another sad reality nobody wants to admit: you can’t change your gender. You can change your name, change your wardrobe, change your presentation with drugs that will make you grow facial hair or surgery that will remove your Adam’s apple or genitals. All these changes may help you feel more confident or more comfortable - great! I support you! Biologically, you are still the gender you came out of the womb and will be for the rest of your life. Reality.

I tell this to both of my girls. I got pregnant very easily with my first. I was also in my late 20’s. By the time I wanted a second at 30, I had secondary infertility and went through every treatment imaginable. I finally got my second child, a girl. But I’m very honest with both of them. It was soul crushing to not get pregnant month after month. Same with weight. Diabetes type 2 runs in both sides of the family for them. But they are young and athletic. Pretending that being overweight is “healthy” is a lie. Yes, we should all love ourselves and appreciate our bodies. But don’t lie to yourself over fertility and weight statistics that have been around forever.

I found out in grad school that the Left is anti-science--if the science says something contrary to the narrative, it must be suppressed.

An entire generation of women has swallowed these lies. Now it's too late for many of them to start a family. How will they cope? It's a rude awakening when they realize that corporate slavery is the opposite of empowering, yet they prioritized it and in doing so sacrificed the most empowering part of our existence - creating life. You left out biological sex. The reality is that humans are a dimorphic species. Male and female. Based on today’s culture, it was probably worth including in your article (which was very good!).

Does the ageist stereotype come into play because people age differently? Of course there is cognitive decline as we all age, but isn't it very individual? And, not that you said this, but is it applying stereotypes to assume that a 70 year old should no longer drive simply based on their age and not their actual ability?

i don't think a 70 year should have their license taken away automatically. but i think it's fair to have to re-take your driver's test more often as you get older, to ensure decline is not impairing your ability to drive as it is much more likely to be happening at that point. just seems safer for all.

How much of this trend results from the combination of gaming and social media? As far as I know, avatars and cosplay didn't exist until 2005 or later.
