Jen is absolutely correct. Pennsylvania enacted regulations, not a law, mind you, expanding the definition of sex to force girls to compete against boys. This fight is far from over!
I’m so glad Jen’s advocating on behalf of women’s sports! Education is equally at risk. If you have time, read the heritage foundations’s essay about Supreme Court hearings in regards to the unconstitutional practice of keeping social transitions secret from parents in schools. And read Glenna Goldis at Unyielding Bicycle. And follow her on Twitter. Along with Jesse Singal, Leor Sapir, and Genspect. Also LGBT Courage Coalition.
Think about women's short track speed skating, in which only 2 competitors race each time. They switch lanes at designated points. If a male makes a wrong move when he's competing "as a woman" the woman racing against him could die from a high speed fall, even with the helmets. This is also true of the races where more contestants are on the track simultaneously. I'm also thinking about mixed doubles tennis, will the men paired with actual women forfeit if a man is posing as the woman on a doubles team? Mixed biathlon, the winter sport involving Nordic skiing and target shooting (invented by the Norwegian home guard prior to a defensive military) should also be interesting if men start claiming women's spots. Just sayin'
What I really don’t understand is this. In women’s swimming, anabolic steroids are clearly recognized as performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), and are illegal in competition. We know this because, if a woman tests positive for anabolic steroids, she receives a suspension for using PEDs (as occurs in many other sports, like cycling and track & field). If she tests positive a second time, she receives a lifetime ban to competition. William “Lia” Thomas was using anabolic steroids daily for approximately 10 years prior to declaring himself “a woman” (whatever he thinks that may be), which clearly violates US Swimming’s own rules. Who can actually believe the women forced to compete against him are getting fair treatment? The same goes for any male competing in women’s sport unless they begin hormone suppression BEFORE reaching Tanner stage 2 development. (And lest anyone think otherwise, I consider that absolutely medical malpractice and child abuse in the absence of medically proven precocious puberty.)

My kids aren’t athletes I’d like to know as we look at colleges. Don’t want to spend money in these states if I can avoid it.

And to be clear, male advantage is greater than that of steroids for performance enhancement. Its nuts.
Thanks for this important update, Jennifer.
