I didn’t read “ Chalked Up” until the whole Nassar travesty .

But I remember all those gyms and coaches you wrote about from my 1980s gymnastics days.

If only the powers that be had listened to you…

For a girl with self doubt, you’ve done some great things Jennifer Sey.

Thank you.

Great Jen - Keep highlighting the issue - couldn't be more important....But also be a little cautious about the support you get from the leaders of the "manosphere" (Musk, "etc."), who will use your righteous cause for their own purpose.

Excellent essay. Though I dearly love the movies and sports, I’m happy for my four children to have safe anonymous middle-class lives rather than to be amongst the predators and abusers in Hollywood or in the music biz or in the Olympics.

Reminds me a little of the tv movie “Little Girls in Pretty Boxes”😢so very sad to hear we needed a law like you describe, but it’s a start. With each new edition of your book, you should “addendum” all the latest of people stepping down, going to jail, etc. How horrible that “leaders” turned on you🥺❤️‍🩹

We don't only need laws we need a couple of lengths of good hemp rope. These predators give up their right to any mercy the first time the put hands on one of these kids. Laws are useless without teeth.

It makes me sick that the world sings the praises of these young female gymnasts’ athleticism, yet turns a blind eye to protect them from abusive coaching and sexual abuse from pedophilic predators. Sickening.

Keep fighting the good fight for female athletes. And fighting to keep them from being pimped out to the “trans” males who want in to their locker rooms.

Chalked Up is an excellent read and every bit of it is true. And folks, that national team coach was Don Peters from SCATs.
