While other schools abandon education fundamentals, my kids are learning Spanish, math, and reading (in two languages), while singing and dancing in gendered costumes.
I remember growing up with my cousins and all of us asking the youngest one, aged 2: What do boys have? “Teenis!” What do girls have? “Dyna!” We all cracked up. Innocent times…
Cyn Wang is a good friend of mine and I can absolutely say with certainty that she represents Democrat interests with integrity. This is what she posted to her friends about the issue you reference.
Some of you may know that I’ve been working with an awesome group of parent leaders on forming the new Westside Family Democrats club. Unfortunately, the DCCC (SF Democratic Party Leadership) declined to charter us at their last meeting. We were questioned about the income level, sexuality, and race of our members and our position on the recall elections, despite the club not having formed when those took place. Some members went so far as to repeat wild, false allegations that we were DINOs, taking Republican dark money, pro-segregation (!), racist, and more.
Real facts: The founders of the Westside Family Democratic Club seek to bring together residents of the Richmond, Sunset, and West of Twin Peaks neighborhoods to increase Democratic voter registration and engagement, improve our public schools, make streets safer and cleaner, and to promote open spaces, accessible and reliable public transportation, and vibrant small businesses: issues of tremendous importance to San Francisco families.
I am thankful to Honey Mahogany and Janice Li for their leadership, and to Heather Knight for telling our story. Our board is filled with awesome people and Robin Pam brought us all together. We are actively seeking new members and would love for you to join us at WestsideFamilySF.com and on our FB group.
I read about this in the chronicle yesterday and was appalled. Excellent reporting Heather's part. This madness must stop. SF is very anti-child and family and getting worse as the younger generation takes the reigns.
Colorado looks better and better every day... not a Latinx or Filipinx in sight... Just Latino, Filipino, and all kinds of folks together with a respect and appreciation for American society, an imperfect and beautiful work in progress. 💜
We've been here 2 years now and i couldn't agree more. Plus, everyone is super friendly and nice. I didn't realize how aloof and not friendly everyone is in the Bay Area -- even though I lived there over 30 years -- until I moved and experienced a counter.
When are Latins going to be thrown under the bus, between their gendered language and culture and the forces of black nationalism favored by critical race theory? It's not a question of if; it's a question of when.

Look at those children participating in cultural appropriation...shame shame.
(This is sarcasm btw in case you didn’t gather that and it’s stupid I even have to include this lol)
