You are a legend, Jen. Thanks for fighting for all children. This is why you had an honorable mention in the subversive seven top class traitors. One angle continues to perplex me. Why did Gen Z vote heavily for democrats in 2022 after Dems like Randi ruined the best years of their lives with closed and masked high schools and colleges?

Such a bitter experience Jennifer.

What I find stunning is her and the other ringleaders of Fear’s ability to blatantly lie and gaslight us about their role during this whole dystopian nightmare.

No remorse, no regret. No apologies. Just digging in, again, gaslighting all the way home.

Where is one’s sense of conscience?

The children were continually sacrificed during this whole ordeal.

Such a cruel counterpoise the the initial findings at the onset of Covid that children were literally exempt from this disease, unlike previous flus. It was the silver lining.

Cast to the wind.

The children have paid the highest price these past years. Canon fodder

The emotional and educational damage is unparalleled. The adults were the ones who needed to be resilient, not the kids.

Our children are our country’s most critical resource. Our jobs are to protect and guide them. Randi failed on such a large scale. In reality she should be begging for forgiveness.

Jennifer, I’m in awe of your tremendous courage. You spoke up early fighting for the children and have borne many stripes as a consequence. In my book you are Woman of the Year.

Keep it up!

How do you get your pieces to be seen by a larger audience and have more people realize just how stupid they were and are in following the woke liberal ideology?

The comment by Yuri says it all - why did most gen Zers vote heavily democratic when these policies made their greatest years a living hell ??

They are just following the herd and don’t even know what they are doing…

One more positive consequence of the exposure of Weingarten's gross lies is the realization that these are government run schools and not public schools. A public school would serve the interests of the public. Government run schools serve the interests of the government and its puppet masters, in this case the teachers' unions.

The unity of the government and teacher unions was made evident when the national administrators persuaded the government, in very short order, to designate parents who complained about school board decisions as terrorists to be investigated by US attorneys in every state.

One effective solution is to adopt school choice legislation that gives parents the ability to send their children to the public, private, or home school if they choose.

The effort to separate children from parent and family is not imaginary; it is real and it must be resisted.

Thank you, Jennifer, for speaking out so plainly.

Thank you, Jen. I'm a retired woman residing in NC. I lived at the time in a suburban subdivision in a city of about 100k. The middle school bus stop was in front of my house. Just about middle class neighborhood, many minorities, perfect lawns, much pride in homeownership and community. I will never forget he sadness I felt when the busses stopped for so many months, seemingly over a year, to then the masked children waiting when schools finally reopened. An acquaintance in an adjoining neighborhood telling me his high school age son, previously a football standout, was home, depressed and now overweight, his team and team spirit, as well as hope for a scholarship, forever lost for "safety." I have since moved to a small town in the mountains. Again, I will never forget.

I was living in Marin County during all of this, and in July 2020 I joined a Zoom call for the union representatives for the Marin County Public School District. Our County Director of Public Health was talking about the kids going back to school and how to do so safely. All the union rep teachers got so upset. Finally he said, "it sounds like you don't want to go back to the classroom but we are going to have to do that." Everyone got very defensive and upset at that. Of course they wanted to return! They just wanted to be safe. It didn't matter that UCSF also was promoting children going back to the classroom, because it was safe (with precautions at that time). The Director tried to explain that in our poorest neighborhoods in Marin (Marin has both the Canal District which is filled with a lot of illegal immigrants with children - and all of those parents were working at restaurants, grocery stores, etc...) although they provide tablets to ALL of the children, less than 50% were ever turned on. It was heartbreaking to hear this, and I was advocating for schools to open even though I had pulled my daughter out of public school 2 years prior. My sons both graduated from public schools. I could not believe what was happening. And honestly, how closing these public schools (while my daughter's private school opened in October 2020) really impacted poor and working class families - and in our community that was mostly people of color. It was disgraceful. And even more so because all these flocked to Lake Tahoe and various vacations locations, and no one was worried about their kids socializing and getting Covid. Many of them got it over that summer.

Thank you for speaking out, Jennifer. The CDC closures, were enabled, in part, by Los Angeles Health Director (who has NO medical training at all) having a PhD (in Social Policy) https://heller.brandeis.edu/outcomes/alumni-profiles-overview.html, Barbara Ferrer.

Ms. Ferrer's daughter co-wrote the study that led to the closures. Despite living together, Ferrer denies having knowledge of this. https://redstate.com/jenvanlaar/2022/07/22/la-county-public-healths-ferrer-incredibly-denies-having-seen-study-her-department-published-co-authored-by-her-daughter-n599837

This affected schools in Los Angeles, of course, but the rest of the USA as well.

As the daughter of a teacher (LAUSD, for decades), my late Mom would have been appalled at the

treatment of "experts" against the welfare of children. It is in her honor that I post about this.

It is an illustration of the reign of terror current in many spheres of the USA. If you express doubt on climate change, ask for schools to be open, say the difference between a man and a woman is biological, that censorship is wrong, then the reign terror has its Robespierres to deal with you aided and abetted by a compliant media.

So if you work for Levi you are fired.

I truly hope that the true record of what happened and whose to blame becomes the accepted record of history, and not the revisionist lies from the people who did it.

Glad to see you’ve come to understand the truth about Randi and the corruption of public employee unions, in general, albeit late. Many of us recognized the dishonesty and pointed it out at the time. Of course, this corruption goes far beyond the unions, and has infected just about every institution we used to trust. You said you still support public schools and have your kids in them presently - I must ask “why?” Surely you see the rot in the public schools isn’t limited to their position on school closings during Covid. Learn your lesson and get your kids out!

Thank you for talking about this ... I feel like we all need to keep the memories alive. We can NEVER go there again. (And thanks to everyone for commenting ... I love seeing classy discussion. To this gal that loves the political arena - it is very refreshing!)

Excellent, well-researched, and persuasive piece Jen. In retrospect, many of us were persuaded to be sympathetic to the union's constant, highly publicized expressions of the dangers to teachers as well as to students. These were wrong, as you so thoughtfully point out. Weingarten trying to rewrite her history is showing the same lack of courage and honesty that too many top political leaders on both sides of the aisle exhibit - to the country's great disadvantage.

Two things are absolutely true. One, Randi Weingarten is completely, irredeemably, unapologetically, cataclysmically, FOS. Chocked to the brim. Second, even a semi-intelligent person would not embark on the type of gaslighting she is performing if they expected it not be successful. She will be successful, without question. In full disclosure, I cannot wait to chat with some of my friends who will parrot Weingarten's bullshit, word-for-word. "She tried her best, but no one would listen!" "Save the children!" "Stop climate change!" (That last one was a *small* embellishment.) The people like Weingarten, who infest the public sphere, and have far too much influence and credibility KNOW they can spew whatever bullshit they like with no worry of retribution. Hell, I saw her get called out on TV--although I forget the exact show at present--and she barely took a breath.

All that said, thanks for providing a few receipts. At least we will enjoy them!
