I wondered why the NCAA was able to so quickly issue their new policy!! It’s because they didn’t really take a meaningful stand. Freaking cowards!!!

Very disheartening. I thought Mr. Trump had put an end to this nonsense. Hopefully they will amend their Executive order to block off all the loopholes. This travesty has to end and end now.

We will win this battle in the end. For now, we need to keep pushing back.

I live in WA and saw what our feckless governor is doing. I will continue writing my reps about it and voting appropriately.

I'm quite shocked to find you already have 25 states that allow legal self declared sex in the USA. In Australia we call this law "self ID" and it is legal in all our 5 states states for anybody to self declare what their sex is and have passports, drivers license, birth certificates and every piece of legal identity document changed. That is why terfy feminists here are currently trying to crowdfund 1 million dollars to challenge the Federal Court later this year as to whether females exist as a sex class.

If I can lie about my sex why not about my age and tax liability? I'd like to change my age to be 2 years older so I can be eligible to get a state funded pension. It distresses me that the date was assigned to me by a doctor who only came up with it by looking at a calendar.

On a contrary note, I don’t think the birth certificate and other ID issues are going to be significant. Most men don’t pass as women. The San Jose State volleyball player was the only one who did, to my knowledge. Certainly Will Thomas didn’t . And if a school risks losing funding if they cheat, I don’t think the school would knowingly participate in a deception.

The EO issue is a concern. We need to pass legislation clarifying Title IX(which was already clear, but whatever).

What is with these "men" who want women's spots? I can't comprehend it. I would be so embarrassed.

I am trying to have compassion here as NCAA head Charlie Baker is clearly gender-confused because of his obvious lack of a bat and a couple of balls between his legs…

Unbelievable cowards. What in the H#LL is going to convince people to wake up?? Hey Jen - my husband and I love to put magnets (like bumper stickers) on our cars. And bumper stickers on the garage fridge which our kids and friends DO see. Ever thought of making some for XX-XY? I have a Make Orwell Fiction Again on my car now…

Great article; somehow I doubt that his was an "oversight" by the NCAA.

I made some quick calculations and the total US +PR eligible to change a birth certificate in Category 1 and 2 from your chart is 55.6%. Honestly, I'm surprised it's not a higher percentage.

If the NCAA struggles to comprehend there are only two genders, they sure shouldn’t be trusted to figure out NIL.

Somehow I think a swinging penis in the locker room will lead to some court cases regardless of what the paper says.

Why would anyone trust the NCAA? It is a money laundering operation for corporate advertising and athletic conferences . There is a lot of money involved. It does what it does because it can and will continue to do so. It is akin to the NFL and all of its self righteous bullshit.
